My fascination with miniatures started at a very young age when I had the privilege to see the Thorne Rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago. It was a magical experience.
At our school library there was a hobby magazine that always had an article on scale miniatures. I went through all the back issues of this magazine for the miniature articles and couldn’t wait for new issues to come out.
If you had told me then that 56 years in the future I would be making fine miniatures myself, I may not have believed you. But here I am doing just that and loving every minute.
I’m privileged to be an Artisan in the categories of Animals and Accessories with the International Guild of Miniature Artisans. The IGMA gives classes in creating miniatures during a week long study in Castine Maine. There are also continuing education classes throughout the year.
